C454 – Site Leadership (C454)
Class Description
This class is focused on introducing apprentices to the challenges they will face when they take on leadership roles on the job. Participants will discuss positions like lead carpenter, foreman, and superintendent as well as each position’s duties and responsibilities to the job, manpower, ownership, architects, engineers, and other trades.
This course is intended for fourth-year apprentices only. If you are not a fourth-year apprentice and wish to take this course, you must contact the Training Center to request admission.
Equipment Required
All apprentices must bring their bag and tools to every training session. Leave your tools in your vehicle and bring your bag in with you. Proper attire is required at the Training Center at all times including sleeved shirts, jeans or khaki pants, and work boots. Safety glasses and hardhats are required at all times in the shops.
Attendance Requirements
Attendance at the first training session is mandatory. 100% attendance is required for all courses that issue Certificates or Qualifications and Apprentice mandatory training. Please be on time! Late arrivals (and early departures) are disruptive to instructors and participants. Poor attendance / disruptive behavior will result in your being dropped from a particular training session.
Cancellation Policy
To maximize the effectiveness of our training sessions, we limit the number of attendees. If you are registered for a specific training and need to cancel, please notify us five (5) business days before the start of scheduled training. Failure to notify us of cancellation may result in your being denied registration for future training. We reserve the right to cancel any course - with five (5) business days’ notice - for which there is an insufficient number of registered attendees. Registrants may then enroll in the next available offering of the course, or cancel the registration.
