C102 – Basic Skills II (C102)
Training Information
Basic Skills II includes training in the use of mobile elevated work platforms (MEWPs) and ICRA 24: Best Practices in Healthcare Construction. MEWPs will train participants on the safety practices, hazard recognition, and skills to operate a variety of aerial lifts encountered on the job. Participants in ICRA 24 will learn the skills and professionalism required to work in occupied facilities generally as well as the special considerations and precautions needed to work in healthcare facilities specifically.
This course is intended for first-year apprentices only. If you are not a first-year apprentice and wish to take this course, you must contact the Training Center (412-262-1830) to request admission.

Equipment Required
All apprentices must bring their bag and tools to every training session. Leave your tools in your vehicle and bring your bag in with you. Proper attire is required at the Training Center at all times including sleeved shirts, jeans or khaki pants, and work boots. Safety glasses and hardhats are required at all times in the shops.
Attendance Requirements
Attendance at the first training session is mandatory. 100% attendance is required for all courses that issue Certificates or Qualifications and Apprentice mandatory training. Please be on time! Late arrivals (and early departures) are disruptive to instructors and participants. Poor attendance / disruptive behavior will result in your being dropped from a particular training session.
Cancellation Policy
To maximize the effectiveness of our training sessions, we limit the number of attendees. If you are registered for a specific training and need to cancel, please notify us five (5) business days before the start of scheduled training. Failure to notify us of cancellation may result in your being denied registration for future training. We reserve the right to cancel any course - with five (5) business days’ notice - for which there is an insufficient number of registered attendees. Registrants may then enroll in the next available offering of the course, or cancel the registration.
